The Maharashtra Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) suspects that Lt Col Prasad Purohit supplied the RDX that was used in the Samjhauta Express blast on February 18, 2007 that killed 68 passengers. “Purohit handed over the RDX to Bhagwan who is suspected to be in hiding in the garb of a godman. So Bhagwan is a key link and we hope to learn about his whereabouts and antecedents in the three-day remand given,” Misar told The Indian Express.
The 14th additional chief metropolitan magistrate passed the orders on a petition by CBI, which is probing the 2007 blast.Sharma ( Abhinav Bharat, hindu jihad force), the second accused in this case will be in CBI’s custody from June 30 till July 9. Devender Gupta, the other accused in the case, is already in CBI custody till June 30. The CBI told the court that questioning of Sharma can throw more light and help in investigations to arrive at the truth in the case. Nine people were killed in the blast during Friday prayers at the 17th century mosque on May 18, 2007. Five people died in the subsequent police firing on protesters near the mosque.
Both Sharma and Gupta are members of Hindu jihad group Abhinav Bharat and are also accused in October 2007 blast at Khwaja Moinuddin Chisthi dargah in Ajmer, which claimed one life and injured 30 others. According to the CBI, two other accused Sandeep Dange alias Parmanand and Ramchandra Kalsangra alias Ramji, both residents of Indore, Madhya Pradesh, are absconding.

Two members of Bajrang Dal, a hindu terror organization — Rajiv Mishra and Bhupinder Singh—were killed while assembling bombs inKanpur. In April 2006, N. Rajkondwar and H. Panse from the same outfit died under similar circumstances in a bomb-making workshop in Nanded.
